
Virginia Dare Pudding
Sift one quart of flour. Into this add one pound of raisins, one pound of
currants, 1/2 tsp salt, 1 pound sugar, one grated nutmeg, one tsp ground spice.
Mix the fruit well into the flour, then add 4 beaten eggs. Add enough water to
make a stiff batter as for fruit cake. Boil (steam?) or bake and serve with
(hard)sauce. Cook for about 2 hours.
