Arnie 's Chocolate Sauce
This was my dad's favorite chocolate sauce recipe. We made homemade ice cream
(with the ice cream maker that had a crank!) and we's have hot fudge sundaes all
summer long after Sunday dinner. Some of my best childhood memories have the
homeade hot fudge somewhere in the background.
2 c sugar
1 c milk
1/2 tsp salt
6 tbsp cocoa powder
2 tbsp corn syrup
cook to simmer, stirring infrequently until sugar is melted. Add 2 tbsp butter
and do not stir; cool to just warm then add vanilla and beat vigorously with a
fork until creamy. Serve warm over ice cream or cake.
