Rice Krispie Tuna Casserole
(*from the Kellogg's website)
* 3 tablespoons margarine or butter
* 3 tablespoons flour
* 2 cups milk
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/2 teaspoon paprika
* 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
* 2 cups cooked rice
* 1 can (7 oz) flaked tuna
* 1/4 cup snipped parsley
* 1 cup Rice Krispies®
* 1 teaspoon margarine or butter, melted
1. In 2-quart saucepan, melt the 3 tablespoons margarine in saucepan over low
heat. Stir in flour. Add milk, stirring until smooth. Increase heat to medium
and
cook until mixture boils, stirring occasionally. Continue cooking and stirring
1 minute longer. Add salt, paprika and cheese, stirring until cheese is melted.
2. In 8 x 8 x 2-inch (1 1/2 qt.) glass baking dish coated with cooking spray,
arrange layers of rice, tuna, parsley and cheese sauce. Combine KELLOGG'S
RICE KRISPIES cereal with the 1 teaspoon margarine. Sprinkle over tuna mixture.
3. Bake at 425° F about 15 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Serve hot.
I've always made Rice Krispies Treats for my girls' treat day at school.
Everyone loves them, especially the teachers. Sometimes I put special little
ingredients in them like sprinkles, chocolate chips, or Reese's Pieces. I've
been asked for my recipes over and over again. The best part is, they're all a
piece of cake to make! (or 'a bowl of cereal'! in this case)
